WL//WH is pleased to welcome the Mexico City-based Electronic /Techno /EBM artist Christian Cassale AKA Datura Inoxia back to the blog with a premiere of “A traves del cristal”, lifted from the upcoming new EP “Masacre”, via Buenos Aires’s label Of Dolls and Murder.

A dancefloor music project since 2022, Datura Inoxia creates obscure atmospheres rooted in Techno/EBM-charged dark rhythms, laced with reflecting twisted feelings of love and loneliness, recording vocals and lyrics influenced by Post-punk.

The release contains five original tracks showcasing Datura Inoxia’s personal take on EBM, plus three remixes from Invalid User (Col), Efe Ce Ele (Col) and Spinal (Ch).

“Masacre” is based on a true story: During the year 1968, before the Olympic Games, on October 2nd, a crowd of students raised their voices against the repression of the Mexican government. During the movement, the Mexican government used police, military and paramilitary forces, killing 400 students in the Plaza de las Tres Culturas in Mexico City, this event is known as “the Tlatelolco massacre”.

“A traves del cristal | Through the Glass” builds a disassociative strobing realm that vibrates from a heavy creeping undertow of gritty droning and blistering low ends, cut through by hard-pounding drum beats and ominous distorted vocals, digging deep into a primal dramatic force, injected by overarching spirals of squalling percussive stabs and serrated, jarring frequencies, into a dangerously compulsive dancefloor hypnosis.

Datura Inoxia‘s upcoming digital EP “Masacre”, is scheduled for release on 08-07-2024, via Of Dolls And Murder.
