WL//WH Premiere Blakaut Dystatik
Fresh from releasing the new album “Σημείο Μηδέν / Point Zero”, BLAKAUT, the minimalist dystopian dark electronics project from the sludge of Athens, has contributed with the unreleased track “Asfyksia”, WL//WH is pleased to premiere, to fellow Athenian label Dystatik‘s first Various/Artists compilation “War is coming back in style”, along with six very active artists from Greece‘s underground electronic music scene such as Veronica Moser, Reaktiv, Alpha Sect, Re/Act, Petros Spatharos & Dry_feel and one Colombian artist, head of Pildoras Tapes, GAËL.
“War is Coming Back in Style’’ compilation born from an idea that came in order to celebrate our first year anniversary, so because we feel the music as a way to express ourselves and especially when human rights are violated in the name of a virus by the governments, just as in the whole world, so in Greece, it would work better to make something that has something to say about all these. War is the key word of the album and it actually means what’s happening nowadays.
Hectic slashing beats and mesmeric kicks ricochet metallic shrapnel along with relentless rumbling, oscillating bassline danger, stabbed by dazzling dramatic synth frequency’s eerie piercing strains, injecting exponential layers of anxious doom and cracking dimensions over minimal authoritarian vocal oppressions’ residual hypnosis, rising and falling in a tumultuous hysteria of high rhythmic tensions and antagonistic disruption.
Various/Artists Compilation “War is coming back in style” is out now, ltd. 2nd Cassette Tape edition & Digital format, on new Athens’ DIY label, runs by dry_feel, DYSTATIK.
