The Sicily-born, now Milan-based, talented Italian genre-defying electronic music producer and BLOODONTHETRACKS label founder, Gae Vinci, with a praised 2023 debut album, “Lonely Ballads,” under his belt, unveils his imaginative and emotionally-ridden remix of “The Storm,” a song originally released in 2021 by Bear Of Bombay, the moniker of Milanese multi-instrumentalist and composer Lorenzo Parisini, fresh from his last September’s self-explanatory titled first LP, “PsychoDreamElectroGaze.”

“The Storm (gae vinci Remix)” is a Techno Melodic / Electronic Shoegaze track about a dream in the summertime:

I decided to remix the original song a few summers ago, when I had just moved to Milan (IT), after casually listening to Bear Of Bombay during a live show at BASE. I was struck by the exotic melody of the track with a melancholic aftertaste, so I decided to represent with my version the delicacy of thought that meets the strength of emotions. A perfect track to listen to with your head leaning on the window of a bus during a long journey or under the console of a club in the early hours of the morning.Gae Vinci explains

Gae Vinci reenvisions the full-body Synth-Pop sound from the original in an abstract and immersive tone, laced with a distinctive cinematic and transcendental flair, to bring forth and amplify heartfelt feelings of intimacy, introspection and stirring nostalgia.

The remix flows like a surreal stream of consciousness, slowly unravelling, with soaring poignant intensity, through compelling, haunting synth pads, glitchy resonances, ghostly reverb washes and cascading chiming piano notes, to weave a reflective, glittering tapestry of mesmeric subliminal textures, interspersed with blurry melancholic vocal hums shivering and swelling along bouncy tinkling key motifs, underlined by subtly crushing, heart-pulsing rhythm patterns, to soberly wax and ultimately wane into a cold droning disconnection of distant whirring frequencies and rambling echoes left vanishing away.
