Two Moons cover on “Platonic Love”, originally included on Venus in Furs’ debut allbum ‘Platonic Love & Other Stories’ (1984), is the 9th step to help us reveal, day after day, the first project from the Dark Alternative Music Collective WAVE.NOIR, entitled “My Velvet Cage”, a heartfelt tribute to the Sussex-based, UK cult band, Venus in Furs, that evolved out of the post-punk explosion of the early 80s, led by the enigmatic, yet still active frontman Times.
A bunch of contemporary dark alternative musicians such as Deus Faust, Nao Katafuchi, Emil Moonstone & The Anomalies, Human, Paris Alexander feat Eirene, Shad Shadows, UIU, Ash Code, Pilgrims of Yearning, Distant Stars, and the already mentioned Two Moons, are paying their respects to those sought after, unforgettable, classics.
Italian 4-piece based in Bologna harbour all the introspective bittersweet moods of the original, while leaving space to their distinctive imagination, injecting more brisk, dynamic and wistful darkwave qualities into a gripping and enveloping array of ominous rumbling bassline, sparse abrasive guitar riffage, cold twinkling synthetic chords, hypnotically pulsing around warm, emotional male vocals in tender reminiscence of the intricate feelings tied with a close friendship.
