WL//WH Premiere #3: EMIL MOONSTONE & THE ANOMALIES “Love Lies” off “My Velvet Cage: A Tribute to Venus in Furs”

WL//WH Premiere #3 Emil Moonstone & The Anomalies

Today, we resume with the Emil Moonstone & The Anomalies‘ reinterpretation of Love Lies’, out of Venus in Furs’ debut album ‘Platonic Love & Other Stories’ (1984), the third step that will lead us to reveal, day after day, the first project from the Dark Alternative Music Collective WAVE.NOIR, entitled “My Velvet Cage”, a heartfelt tribute to the Sussex-based, UK cult band, Venus in Furs, that evolved out of the post-punk explosion of the early 80s, led by the enigmatic, yet still active frontman Times.

Bologna-based project led by the longstanding stalwart of the Italian underground punk scene, singer and composer Emil Moonstone – also one half of the post-punk duo Two Moons – and his live band The Anomalies inject a fresh, urgent and distressing vibe through a different framework of ‘Love Lies’, while keeping the melodic harmonies of the singing sections.

Steady vibrant beats chug along with deep resonant bassline’s intense momentum with brazen expressive male vocals that rise and fall beneath a reverb-infused haze of warm expanding flickering guitar melodies laced with zipping, swirling keyboard strains, encapsulating the dire and meandering melancholy wept in the original 1984 tune.
