WL//WH Premiere #1 NAO KATAFUCHI
We start with Nao Katafuchi, the first step that will lead us to reveal, day after day, the first project from the Dark Alternative Music Collective WAVE.NOIR, entitled “My Velvet Cage”, a heartfelt tribute to the Sussex-based, UK cult band, Venus in Furs, that evolved out of the post-punk explosion of the early 80s, led by the enigmatic, yet still active frontman Times.
A bunch of contemporary dark alternative musicians such as Deus Faust, Emil Moonstone & The Anomalies, The Stave Church, Human, Paris Alexander feat. Eirene, Pilgrims of Yearning, Shad Shadows, Two Moons, UIU, Ash Code, and Distant Stars, besides the already mentioned Nao Katafuchi, are going to pay their respects to those sought after, unforgettable, classics.
Japanese dark synth musician Nao Katafuchi adds his own unique style to the song ‘Majordomo’, originally published on Venus in Furs‘ debut album ‘Platonic Love & Other Stories’ from 1984, while remaining true to the anthem’s original melody and atmosphere.
Disquieting evocative expanding synth flows weave with oscillating heavy heart pulsing bassline and scattered tense snare hits, whilst icy bright wistful melodies shroud lonely male vocals sorrowfully longing in all-encompassing awe and adoration for ‘Majordomo’.
