WL//WH New Music   Flowerbed / Heavytrip Split EP

Independent Texan purveyor of reverb-drenched noise, Left Home Records, provides a shoegaze lover’s dream in the form of a 4-track split EP combining the spacey and whimsical nuances of Denton, TX 4-piece FLOWERBED with the heavy, dark, and immersive landscapes of Durant, OK loud rockers HEAVYTRIP.

Flowerbed‘s free-floating ethereal sun swept melodies exhale dreamy bittersweet longings into the glistening haze of warm and fuzzy reverb-laden elation, while blissfully airy vocal harmonies float with tender comfort over sinuously hearty bassline throbs and glaring sidereal shimmers in “Pyrite”, before diving deep into both enveloping and distressing glowing guitar built moods, soaring with psychological pain in “Selenite”, to elicit numbed-out feelings of escapism.

Heavytrip‘s harshly tumbling and hypnotic atmospheres weave dark grey skies over the restless rhythms and soothing fuzzy tones of the moody “Spun” to instil a carefree vibe of blissful disillusionment, whilst the more anxious, obscure, yet equally absorbing, intense energy of “Reverie”, amidst subdued abrasive distortion and ominously rumbling bassline, takes a head dive into the deep end of harsh reality.

Left Home Records, focused on fostering the growing DIY community in Texas, will be steadily releasing music for the rest of the months in 2020 and continue their Livestream shows.
