Since 2012, Lost Tapes is the epitome of elegant and nostalgic Indie Pop born from the collaboration of two veterans from the Spanish underground rock music scene, RJ Sinclair of Valencia‘s garage rockers Tokyo Sex Destruction and Pau Roca of Barcelona‘s indie four-piece La Habitación Roja (LHR), deftly merging dreamy electronic Labrador-style Scandinavian suggestions, C86 rippling distortions, Air-like lush sugary vibes and Sarah Records-tinged jangly chiaroscural melancholy.
The duo is going to drop the 4-track “Crossing Towns” E.P. due on June 21, 2023, in 7″ Vinyl & Digital formats, as a co-release between Shelflife (US) and blue-very label (Japan), whose title track “Crossing Towns”, WL//WH is pleased to premiere.
Suffuse of breezy sun-dappled summery Sarah Records haze (The Orchids, Blueboy), “Crossing Towns” manifests the feelings of yearning for past intimacy swaying through rubbery winding bass line pulses, obsessive sparkling and meandering guitar weaves, light skipping drum beats, and whimsical glowing keys around high dreamy vocal angst, stuck and distressed by relentlessly haunted longings for lost romantic days.
Lost Tapes‘ upcoming “Crossing Towns” E.P. is slated for release in ltd. 7″ Vinyl & Digital formats, on June 21, 2023, via Shelflife Records (US) and blue-very label (Japan), on Presale on the Label’s Bandcamp.
