Appleseeds!, the beloved Danish Twee / Indie Pop duo from Copenhagen, made up of Ditte Duus (drums, vox) and Kasper Clemmensen (guitar, vox, bass, synth), after their amazing debut 10-track LP “æblefrø”, complete with a 12-page booklet of beautiful illustrations by Mamoru Yamamoto, via Brest’s immaculate Pop propagators Too Good To Be True Records, return with a disarmingly endearing animated video for “Friend | Let’s Put it Out”, we could not help but drop it on the blog.
Clever promotional lyrics spin a nostalgic earworm of energetic guitar strums laced with jangly flourishes, Baroque whirling flute melodies by Tuan Hao Tan, light skipping drum beats, and simmering bass lines into a vibrant rousing tide under heartfelt folksy vocals, lifted by celestial backup charm, to deliver an urgent announcement, “In a Record Store Today!”
The adorable, soul-stirring video captures the whimsical adventures of a claymation caterpillar and her playful frog friend to pull at the viewers’ heartstrings whilst syncing seamlessly with the comforting, sentimental vibes of the soundtrack.
