WL//WH Video Of The Day: SUFFERING FOR KISSES “Change”

Video Of The Day Suffering for Kisses

Suffering For Kisses, the Dark Wave/Synth Pop project of Seattle, Washington based artist Tony D’Oporto, aka The Gnome, along with live band members Rickie Hart, Mike Wimer and Dominic Smelt, has dropped the sign of the times modern dystopic video for SFK’s latest new years day’s melancholic synthpop single “Change.”

Atmospheric breathes of saturated pain swirl evocatively around buzzing oscillating bass tones, sad twinkling icy bright synth melodies, and skipping, clanking beats to form a warm wave of melancholic hope around the somber intensity of numb, pain-filled male vocals’ heartfelt plea for a better world amid the distressed, haunted expansions and distant blowing disharmonies of the past.

Black and white video, filmed by Matt Brain and Darin Clark, dissects an urban street performance cast in obscure murals, edgy architecture, and hypnotic symbols. Hashtag signage connects sullen grey skies with intimate wishes, and secret caresses to evoke a yearning for physical human contact through statuesque poses and subconscious, universal imagery. Outstretched hands reach to an invisible flow of sentient signals collapsing the disconnection of time-lapse footage to spin around the abandoned metropolis into the swimming shadows and lost hopes of the sunset’s vast horizon.
