WL//WH Video of the Day: SILVER MACHINE “Lovebug”

Video of the Day  Silver Machine

A chance encounter at Desert Daze Music Festival in 2017 and a mutual fondness for Brooklyn-based minimalistic rock’n’rollers “The Vacant Lots” brings North London-based electro-psych trio SILVER MACHINE together with acclaimed Los Angeles‘ filmmaker Snake Chime Zen for a visually stunning joy ride of hazy mind-bending psychedelia.

The 3-piece, comprised Sarah Inge (Vocals), Jack (Guitar & Drum Samples) & Louis (Bass) Wickett-Padgham, play a mesmerizing and intriguing mix of futuristic fuzzy psych noise, hazy pop and 90’s style electro fractured rhythms.

“Lovebug”, off of the band’s soon to be released new EP, seethes over heavy, dense baseline buzz around stark, metallic, repetitive beats and groovy abrasive guitar riffs to form hazy, inebriated atmospherics penetrated by the hypnotic whir of cicada drones and sinuous searing 6-string leads as cracked, slightly helium-inflated female vocals losing control into a chaos of self-loathing and human weakness.

When a strong aching desire to see his lover turns into a desperate demented need a man finds himself battling a full-blown obsession laced with elements of stalking. Unable to stop the uncharacteristic behavior leads to feelings of shame, guilt, and insatiable anxiety that start a vicious downward spiral into deep depression.

A trance-inducing video, directed by Snake Chime Zen, visualizes black and white fuzzy static surges within an angular frame as it races around a lagged flickering screen blurring a hidden treasure trove of tripped out latent images lysergically morphed, split, and transfixed into a surreal randomization fusing black and white three dimensional media with illustrated animation to hypnotize the rhythm of psychedelic primordial ooze.

Keep up with Silver Machine:
