I missed the pretty promising debut EP “Sunday” by the Russian 4-piece from Yekaterinburg, Shoe Shine Six.
Fortunately the bassist Mikhail dropped their stuff in my box letter and I was immediately hooked and ready to be picked for my today’s choice.
SHOE SHINE SIX‘s sound is a brilliant blend of heavy shoegaze and imaginative dreampop with noise-rock, grunge and even emo flavours.
In “Daze” the clash of sounds are amazingly constructed with a crushing wave of guitars layers ricocheting into an explosion of heavily reverbed noise and intoxicating harmonies upon which Katarina’s beautiful emotional vocals shines through, ready to challenge and overwhelm our senses.
Just one of the highlights of an overall highly promising debut, with few flaws, that suggests a talented band to keep a close eye on.
Keep up with Shoe Shine Six :
