Philadelphia‘s artist Tristan Victor, besides being an excellent remixer, listen to his last Silent Runners‘ “Roadkill” remix here, is considerably improving and refining his dark synth-driven solo project embedded in the KISS OF THE WHIP moniker.
After two promising self-released albums at the turn of 2017 and 2018, Tristan is back into the new year in scintillating form with two singles in a row: the EBM-infused “Circle of Knives” coupled also with a video, and the recent darkwave burner “Levitation”.
Relentless eerie icy synth melodies and glittering chiming guitar chords suffuse an intriguing and seductive air of mystery and danger propelled by monotonous hard-hitting lashing beats interlaced with deep sombre pulsing bass line to bolster low haunted baritone vocals drown in shame, anxiety and hope.
A fascinating slice of energetic, obscure and brooding darkwave stunningly entice to listen and dance.
