Based out of Long Beach, California, veteran post-punk / shoegaze 3-piece Echolust, made of Philip Obens, Armond Angeles, and Tony Lee Jackson, after their 2016 brilliant debut album “Veldisa”, are back with the first preview from the forthcoming sophomore full-length “Loomer” due out June 29th.
In “The Last Tide” the dream-pop and synth-pop elements have been left aside, perfectly channelling instead the best bits of post-punk and shoegaze. A propulsive powerful and hypnotic bass lines are chased by a tight and pounding drums soon surrounded by an hypnotic and noisey wall of distorted guitars and addictive melodic leads, carving out an intense and poignant soundscape amplified by the emotional vocals declaring all his acceptance and relief about a gone love.
Echolust have never been so powerful, visceral and pleasantly dangerous, it couldn’t have been any better way to introduce the new album.
Keep up with Echolust :
