Somos La Herencia, launched out of Madrid, Spain in 2012, comprised of four band members GONSO – voice / synthesizer, QUIQUE on guitar, GUILLE on bass, and WILLY on drums, just released a new single few days ago, characterised by their bold and imaginative blend of cold post-punk and darkwave with electronic and industrial undercurrents.
“Agua” is a darkwave, experimental noir song about love and what one will do to keep it. It explores the mind of someone who will go through great lengths to keep his lover and himself together even to the point of changing the way he sees reality. Lines are blurred between pleasure and pain, innocence and guilt, and reality and delusions.
Haunted and vexed vocals transpose, surrounded by syncopated drums bursting with droning synth layers. Jittery, Clean, sharp, incisive guitar lines unfold over the melodic swollen pulses of bass with the emotional lead vocals arousing deep feelings of despair, suspiscion, and oddly hope.
Perfectly produced by Abel Hernández, “Aqua” confirms and solidifies the progress showed with their sophomore EP “Zigurat”, a bursting and captivating slice of experimental post-punk.
