A very good song which is mounted on alternative rock musings with certain shoegaze fills by the band’s excellent guitar-work. And there’s more, drummer plays steady, bass as the expected-as the hint and the vocals placed there like both the singer and the narrator, brilliant! – Mike
Already track of the day last February, here, the MJ from Hookworms produced debut single ‘Furniture’ by Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK experimental noise art-rockers Dose is due to be released on 7″ vinyl on 27th April via the German cult indie label A Turntable Friend.
Inspired by the experience of playing in their squalid, decaying practice space, “Furniture” was written by Sean Turland and Ewan Barr. The full band includes also bassist Matthew Collerton, guitar/synth/samples from Sam Campbell and drummer Joe Donkin.
In the meantime the band have shared the amazing black & white visuals shot by Mitchell Dilley.
Sean Turland comments: “The lyrical inspiration for ‘Furniture‘ came from the decaying attic space we once rehearsed in, so we thought it fitting to base the video around the same building. It features point of view [VHS] footage myself and Ewan shot of eachother entering the various rooms – we tried to give the viewer that same sense of unsettling exploration we felt on our first venture into that strange, bleak place.”
