The Richmond, Virginia project of Adam Juresko, Decades/Failures is back, after a long hiatus, with a new 5-track EP, titled “Untitled No.4”, of compelling dense and jarring synth-tinged dark post-punk.
In the laconically titled ‘Song 4’, the rhythms are vibrant, the bass lines pulsating and commanding, the emotional razor-sharp reverbed guitar riffs poignant and enticing, the synth ominous and the low effected vocals lost in the reverberation of the instruments; the mood is dour and dark, the sound tense, blunt and very minimal, as visceral as intense, just like 80’s influenced modern post-punk should be.
Give it a listen, it’ll get definitely under your skin, there were more bands like Decades/Failures.
Keep up with Decades/Failures :
Great band! The new songs are neat, too bad there’s no physical version (yet). Short review here: https://pigeonsetcorbeaux.blogspot.fr/2018/03/decadesfailures-untitled-no4.html
