Fresh from having just published the new LP under his main Carlo Onda moniker, the tireless Swiss musician certainly couldn’t sit back, triggering both the drum machine into various hypnotic, robotic and bouncing patterns as well the analog synth set-up into pulsating basslines and twisted synth chords, while combining the lyrics and vocalizations of fellow Andrin, the Karl Kave & Durian venture was born. A raw and pulsating concoction of synthpop, NDW, minimal wave, synth-oddity, melancholy, and humor, that ably harks back to the creative freedom of the underground cassette-culture of the ’80s, a sort of new ‘Swiss Wave’?
