Longstanding Cincinnati’s “grit-pop” rock’n’roll foursome est. 2009, VACATION , dropped, last Spring, a 9-track collection of previously unreleased songs ranging from 2016 – 2019, titled “Zen Quality Seed Crystal”, through Salinas Records (12″ vinyl LP) and Wasted Tapes (Cassette), from which is taken the track “Hole That Once Held a Screw” along the accompained video, created by Evan Wolff and Channel 77, WL//WH is very please to premiere.
The Ohio group unleashes an off-kilter slice of lo-fi gravelly swagger that wanders its way through dull, abrasive grinding guitar riffs, dense melody-carrying groovy bassline, and tight drums to fuel energetic brazen male vocals in a cynical slap joined in frenetic harmonic hum and buzz.
Anti-conformist lyrics possess sarcastic wit and dry humour in the form of “a foaming tap of conversation and a blunt-ride into the sun.”
The satirical video, created by Evan Wolff and Channel 77, mixes neon hues, abstract impressionism, and iconic imagery set against the flashing backdrop of confetti, geometric shapes and a gritty static disconnection.
Keep up with Vacation:
