Genre-bending cross-coastal electronic trio IEVA [pronounced “YEH-vah”], made of singer/lyricist Ieva Berberian (Los Angeles), electronic musician/producer Joel Darling (New York), and former Clap Your Hands Say Yeah drummer Sean Greenhalgh (Boston), have just dropped the new single “Ride”.
Equal parts atmospheric and energetic, “Ride” depicts the mournful, anxious and dramatic emotional struggles of a woman after a breakup through mournful, anxious, and dramatic contemplative lush soundscape oozing devouring pain, lovelorn regret, and melancholy resignation combining hypnotic tight beats to propel profoundly impassioned and stirring waves of synth, underlie by subtle sombre guitar melodies and seething bass, shadowed by gripping deep penetrating vocals engulfed in grief, shame, and anger drifting dangerously at the edge of darkness.
Keep up with IEVA:
