Mexico City based power trio, comprised of Ivan Flores (Vocals,Guitar), Iván Bosco (Bass) and Jarub Arizabalo (drums), have just released their excellent debut album entitled “I’m Still In Love With You”, CD and digital, via independent netlabel Stupid Decisions.
The band’s intense guitar-driven sound, filled with subtle energy and wistful melancholy vibes, walks a fine line between daze atmospheric introspection and echoing shoegazey reverberations, pierced by restrained noisy guitar scrapes.
One of the tracks that really stood out to me the most is the dreamy hazy gem, dripped in nostalgic enchantment, of “Falling Skies”. Sparkly reverb-charged mournful jangly guitar melodies, underpinned by cymbal infused drums and dense bass lines, beautifully flourish along achingly bittersweet vocals capturing profound longing, sadness and sorrow, blurring in a soul-bruising whining guitar solo outcome, making for an immersive and moving dream pop at its finest.
